A Note from our Rabbi
Shalom. My name is Rabbi Louis Zivic. I was ordained at the Jewish Theological Seminary in 1976. Having served in another pulpit, I was chosen to be rabbi here in Lebanon in 1983 and served here for 21 years until moving to Knoxville, TN. I returned to Lebanon in 2010, after retiring from the pulpit rabbinate.
Folks in Lebanon were kind enough to ask me to return to the pulpit on a part time basis and that’s where things are today. I’m working half time as the congregation has grown smaller through death and movement to warmer places.
I enjoy reading, fishing and target shooting (reading is what I do best.) My wife, Karen and I enjoy people and have sponsored Shabbat Torah study luncheons during the past year and look forward to continuing them. I am also the co-moderator of a radio show on interfaith issues. The show can be found on WLBR 1270AM on the first Wednesday of the month beginning at 9AM.
As a part time rabbi, I will not be able to do everything that may be necessary. I would appreciate it greatly if you would help, by notifying me about members of the synagogue who are ill or incapacitated. I can always be reached through the synagogue.
Hoping to greet you with holiday and Shabbat blessings.
